Born in 1971 in the city of Beirut, Lebanon where the practice of art became a way of expressing myself and sharing that with the people close to me. Simultaneously, it was in this time period that I discovered that soccer was another passion. My talent in soccer developed in the nearby soccer fields throughout the Middle East. Hence, I gained recognition from the national youth soccer team of under the age of 14, in Geneva, Switzerland and won many trophies and medals at that time.
After living in Geneva, we decided to emigrate again to another peaceful place several thousand miles away to California where we lived for ten years as I continued to complete a Bachelor degree in the area of Fine Arts with a minor in Ceramics at a School named Otis College of Art and Design. The school was affiliated with Parsons in New York until 1992. Followed by a one year at Rhode Island School of Design in the subject of Landscape Architecture.
I have been painting and making Pottery seriously for the past four years as my work began to mature continuously with several acceptances from curators and Gallery Directors on the East Coast. Most notably an exhibition at the Pleaides Gallery, New York City. I have participated in Juried competitions under such Jurors as Lisa Dennison Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Susan Masuoka, Director of Aidekman Arts Center Tufts University, Dana Miller, Assistant Curator, Whitney Museum, Dr. Andrea Spaulding Norris, at the Lousiana State University, Anne Rocheleau, Director of the Rhode Island Foundation Gallery, and David Kiehl, Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
Now living in the West Coast I have been showing and selling art in numerous exhibitions including the SDAI San Diego Art Institute and other galleries in the region. |
