David Underwood’s work is included in the permanent collections of a dozen museums, including The Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Columbus Museum of Art. He has held 17 solo exhibitions, and his work has been included in more than 90 group exhibitions around the United States and Great Britain. David Underwood is currently the Art Department Chairman at Carson-Newman College, in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where he has been the primary professor of photography since 1990. He moved to Jefferson City with his wife, Dr. Susan O’Dell Underwood, from Tallahassee, Florida in 1990 after completing his MFA Degree from Florida State University, so that both he and his wife could assume teaching positions back at their common undergraduate Alma matter. David is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and began making art as a college freshman in 1978. |
