ARTIST BIOGRAPHY




 Beverley Southcott    
 
   


Beverley Southcott is a mid career Adelaide-based artist. Her visual art practice comprises of photo media, painting, installation and mix media. Beverley’s works are regularly shown in Australia and recently overseas.  Beverley won the SALA (South Australian Living Artists) 2005 award, “Best photographic based work”, for the Sea-In Exhibition, Bay Discovery Centre, City of Holdfast Bay, Glenelg, South Australia.  As well in 2005, she was awarded a Master of Visual Arts by research from the South Australian School of Art, University of South Australia. 

Other recent solo exhibitions have included: Hollow/Hallow Space, Greenaway Art Gallery, Adelaide (2005), Hollow/Hallow Space, Liverpool Street Gallery, University of South Australia, Adelaide (2004), Bridge, Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre, Adelaide (2003) and the Palms of Your Hands, Downtown Contemporary Art Space, Adelaide in 2005).
 

The Sea-In 3 photo media work from the Sea-In exhibition was recently selected and shown in the Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award 06 in the Gold Coast City Gallery in Queensland, Australia. This work has now been acquired by the Gold Coast City Gallery for their collection.
