My work echoes nineteenth century Romantic landscape
paintings whilst also being situated in a contemporary context. My main
preoccupations are the constrast between light and dark and the tension
between abstract and figuration. The paintings are the result of memories of
landscapes perceived more by emotion than by observation and my aim is that
they will slowly and quietly reveal themselves to have a deeper dimension
through the process of contemplation. |
