ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

GC Williams is new to the gallery scene having been painting just a few years. A self taught artist, she has participated in two shows with the Art Escape Gallery outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as completing several commissions for private collectors.

Torn between her lifelong love of making and studying art, she chose art history as her major at Wheaton College (B.A. 1998). While working after college as an editor for a publishing company, she began experimenting first with acrylic and finally oil paints. Drawing on a rich appreciation and knowledge of the Northern European still life masters from her undergraduate studies, she began developing a model of still life that would attempt to be as relevant to modern society today as those painters were to their societies hundreds of years ago.

A move from Chicago to Jacksonville in 2002 allowed her to pursue painting as a full time career and she has enjoyed the past two years immensely and is excited to see what the future holds.
