I was born in 1980 in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. This is where I have lived my whole life. In high school, art began to become a big part of my life, not so much through class work, rather as a need to express myself. All my work was intensely private and really wasn’t shown to many people. After high school I began working full time in shirt and tie type jobs. This is when art really became important to me. During my second year of college my direction took a total shift and I began to pursue commercial art. This was still too limiting, so I started over again and began to pursue fine art. Attending the American Academy of Art in Chicago began a drastic change in my work from abstract to realism. The freedom and ability for introspection as well as the human figure really grabbed me and has held my attention ever since. After my junior year at the Academy, I decided to take a year off and find my own direction, and artistic personality. This past year has been a huge learning experience not only in who I am, but in how the art world works. I do not know what the future holds at this point, but I know art will be the driving force in it.
