ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

C. MASON

As any person knows who has tried to replace reason with art, it is a long road ahead.  I do not know how long yet, but a passion for creating and capturing images through my all manual 35 mm has consumed my life since taking my first Black & White photography course in 2002. An interest in detail, texture, and composition has always existed, but I had not considered that I may be an artist until I saw what I could do with my pawn-store camera. I returned to school to find a new solution, career, etc.  An elective that I knew I’d love made me rethink a degree in something that I hadn’t made my mind up about.   After a trip to Cuba (photojournalism course), and with nothing to think about but shooting 24/7, I changed my major.  My artwork is a purist expression of my life, and is a catalyst to realization of concerns that we all face.
